We love to bake in our house. Especially chocolate chip cookies. These aren’t just any chocolate chip cookies, they are simply the most chocolatey you’ll ever make. I don’t use chocolate chips, my secret is shaving a Belgium chocolate bar into the batter and then adding Belgium chocolate chunks. The cookies turn out to be moist and chewy, with a subtle melted chocolate flavor in each bite.
2 sticks butter at room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup light brown sugar packed
2 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 pound Belgium milk chocolate bar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Finely shave 1/4 pound of the Belgium chocolate and coarsely chop the remaining 3/4 pound of chocolate. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. In an electric mixer, cream the butter, add white and brown sugar and beat until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time – mix well. Add vanilla. Incorporate the flour into the mixture. Add shaved chocolate – mix well and then fully incorporate chocolate chunks.
Roll dough into 1.5 inch round balls and place onto parchment lined cookie sheets. Bake for roughly 11-12 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to wire rack to cool completely or if you’re like us, you’ll eat them straight off the baking sheet while still nice and hot. Don’t forget your glass of milk!
