This beautiful New Year’s wedding took place at the Mormon Temple in San Diego and the reception was held at the Admiral Kidd Club. Brittany and Scott dreamt of a vintage nautical theme and Amorology did a wonderful job in bringing the theme to life. The couple were influenced by guiding and grounding people in their lives so they further enhanced the theme with lanterns and anchors – with their sentimental meanings woven into the theme of their wedding. I love how happy this beautiful young couple appear and how happy the bride’s mother is to see her daughter.
Beautiful bouquet with an Anthropologie feel.
Pretty bridesmaid dresses with a nautical feel to them.
Adorable flower girls…
Love that the newlyweds have matching nautical shoes for their sail around San Diego Bay.
Let the wind guide you to your seat. Love how they planted the escort cards inside a boat of baby’s breath and roses.
Dance floor gobo with monogram and anchor
The beautiful lace trimmed cake was created by Sweet Cheeks Baking Co.
The head table was nicknamed “The Crew.”
Beautiful nautical memorial to the bride’s father – “One of the most touching aspects of the evening was the Guiding Light table that was created in honor of Brittany’s father, who was a Captain in the Navy and passed away from Non-Smoker’s Lung Cancer. He had been a hero to her in more ways than one and it was clear that they had a very special relationship. While we knew that this day was about Brittany and Scott, we also knew that in the large scope of things it was also about family and we wanted to make sure that his memory was included as well. Mixed among all different lanterns were pictures of Brittany’s father throughout the years as well as quotes. It was another great way to feel his presence at the wedding.”
Ice cream bar with the most adorable nautical themed ice cream names – S.O.S Strawberry, Peanut Butter Overboard, Ocean Blue Vanilla, and We’d be sunk without Chocolate.
They rang in the New Year with wedding bells.

Hey! How do you know Brittany? I grew up with her in San Diego!!!
I don’t know Brittany – I came across her wedding on her wedding planner’s blog when I was looking to feature an LDS wedding
Absolutely stunning event. Mormon Temple weddings seem to be, more and more, trendsetting in the industry, and yet, are almost always done on a shoestring budget with lots of help from family and friends. It’s amazing. This one is no exception. I would have loved to have seen more images from the temple, but of course, everybody loves the details too. Great event!
And I totally kept googling “Non-Smoker’s Lunch Cancer” over and over trying to figure out what that was…. until it finally dawned on me that “Lunch” is probably a typo for Lung. I have never felt more dense…. I have several brides this year who will be celebrating their events without parents present. Moms and Dads who have passed away recently or many years ago. I love to see how these important and so, so special people have been honored on these important days in our lives!
Thank you Emily! Unfortunately, those were the only photos that I have from the Temple. Beautiful weddings on your blog – I have friends that go to both BYU and BYUI.
I love Amorology! I tried several times to get hired by them or to even internship with them but alas they weren’t needing anybody
Who knows? Maybe someday
Where did you get your dress? It’s beautiful.
